Have they added anything to PS since mid-beta that makes it more worthwhile? I loved playing it for awhile, but it soon got dull... the only thing to do really was cap bases or zerg... the latter is not much fun, the former got old real fast

Dood. This is a FPS. Your not going to get much in the way of content. No NPCs. No quests. No AI. No economy. No GM run events. None of that.
The most you can hope for is a new cookie cutter gun or vehicle every few months. None of what i said is a put down on PS, its just how FPS games work. My only beef with this is why in the bloody hell they are charging 13$ when the developers have 1/50th the workload of a MMORPG and a fraction of the server space. Can you say "SOE likes raping me up my virgin ass?" Good, i thought you could |

You hit the nail on the head when you brought up montly payments. That is why there NEEDS to be content... When you buy a FPS game such as halflife or RTCW its one payment... and if for two months you like it a lot, you get your money's worth... but for something so expensive I just dont understand how it can be marketted with equal or less content then other online FPS games such as CS.

From what I've heard in some of the beta chats with SJ, PS requires better hardware and more bandwidth than a run of the mill mmorpg. That could account for some of the cost.
Lattice didn't technically add content, but what it did was make fighting other people a necessary and frequent occurence. That's a good change in my book.

Welcome to the world of MMO's
Guess what? It costs some serious cash to keep all these servers running, and some serious cash to keep a dev team on board (the same team as release right now) This is an FPS people, if you want content, or if you want to battle 30hours to gain some magical sword, go play something else. Either that or define "content" in an FPS, please. I want to hear what "content" you look for. |

I dont think you get my point - It isnt that I dont understand why you need to pay or that I want some PvE content added, but I find it hard to go and pay for a game that has less to do then most half life mods, which can be gotten for free. I wasnt in any way trying to flame the game, just curious if anything has been or is being added content wise, or if the game still revolves around base hopping and zerging.

It isnt a standard FPS, you are on a HUGE continent.. with thousands of people, in a persistant ever changing world. IS that not enough for people?
If it isnt, go contineu playing the same half life maps over, and over, and over, and over. I'm just getting sick and tired of the "content" argument. |

Halflife, for example, has league play, which gives countless options for a clan to do... The continent might be huge, but my question still hasnt been answered... are they done with content or do they have any ideas for the future that gives the game some refreshment?
