i dont know what this has to do with anything, but if you really think about it, weren't all the xperts noobs at one point and had no idea they would be planetside xperts 1 day? if you say noobs are bad, they might turn out better than you and kick your ass one day, right? im not sayin im a noob because i SOMETIMES defend them, but it is just a random thought...

There is a difference between a n00b and a newbie. A newbie is just someone new and fun to help.
A n00b is the wanker who thinks he knows everything because.... he thinks knows everything. A n00b is the dude that destroys the generator and the wall turrets after the hack, eventhough 12 people told him not to. A n00b is the one that sits in the CC shooting everyone who walks through the door friend or foe. A n00b is the one who drives his vehicle at full throttle through a friendly crowded base that has no enemies. A n00b is the one that stabs the doors with his knife for hours on end. A n00b is the one that throws plazma grenades to kill 1 infantry hitting 10 teammates. A n00b is the dude that spamms all the voice macros...for hours on end. A n00b is the dude that set a boomer off.... in a crowded CC room, that had no enemies. A n00b is the dude that pulled out his vehicle on a crowded pad and tried to drive it from the trunk... then spends the next few minutes doing laps around the thing. While the 30 other people in line try to decide whether shooting him will speed the process up any. A n00b is the dude that shoots you 3 times in a row, not noticing the first 2 times the grief point alarm going off. A n00b is the one that shoots destroys friendly spitfires and motion sensors.... just because they can. A n00b is the dude that keeps on unloading all his ammo into the sky for some unknown reason (maybe thinking they can shoot down a HART). A n00b is the dude that jumps in your vehcile gunner position uninvited, firing off all your ammo into random directions, forcing you to keep your vehicle squad-locked at all times. After being booted or not let in, begins to shoot your vehicle with his suppressor. I don't mind newbies.... it's just the n00bs that bug the hell outa me!

Me > PSU guys > newbies > darkbaine > n00bs
The thing that ticks me off is the people who are too lazy to use the useful tools known as manual, training and help. People running around asking where do they get certs or how do they cloak should be shot, tied up, force to read the help and training stuff, then shot again and released. |

I'm with DIO (but don't have the kewl smiley that says so)
I don't mind helping out the occasional newbie, it's fine. An entire squad of them can get a bit tiresome, but if your in that kinda group and don't feel like being just don't play with them. Then you have the NOOBS! My personal favorite noob story is back in Beta when all the fileplanet monkeys started getting on. I was flying a Gal for my squad we flew into a warp gate and were on our way to a connected cont when someone starts spamming local chat looking for an invite. "Whoeveres gal I'm in can I get an invite into your squad?" About 100 times. once people noticed we kindly informed him that we were full. He then started swearing at us, lwtting us know we should have paid more attention to him and answered him sooner. He then informed us that he would follow us around and "wait for an opening" By this time I was over a large enough body of water and kicked him outa the Gal (the only way to TK without any grief) As a funny side note, after we had hit the base we were going to he showed up spamming away again. Everyone at the base got fed up and all proceded to kill him with great impunity. Newbie needs guidance and help, and I'll always give it, Noobs need a boot and a bullet, and I'll almost always give it as well! PAX

As much as I hate to admit it, OnemanArmy is correct.
NC on emerald suck so hard. When not in outfit squads the chances of a decent squad are about 1 in 5... maybe more. What we need is someone on Emerald to coordinate one of those 6-10 squad runs. I've been in one before, and it is FUN... and effective. For now, you can't root 150+ guys from a base untill the hack goes, becuase they want to get XP (doesn't help explaining that they get none...) Then those same 150 people flow to the next base and hack it while the base they just left is deffended by me and 10 others... If I'm lucky. Someday people will get that breaking into small groups makes better fights/more xp/ more fun/ a chance to control the server more often then onve every 10 days... SIGH If you ever want a good squad memeber look me up on Emerald... Go by the name Pilgrim PAX

In all fairness, the manual is pretty friggin useless. There is a ton of game-critical info that is either glossed over or totally absent. Predictably, it sounds like the $15 strategy guide fills in many of the holes that the GODDAMN MANUAL SHOULD HAVE COVERED. Ahem. |
