yeah, i doubt its a system problem, almost definately a hardware problem.
it might sound stupid, [but it has here in europe] has it got a lot hotter where you live recently? that can make a huge difference. and as spider said, is anythnig really hot? try running it with the sides off the case and a few fans blowing into it. |

This is an exploit in WinXP:
Windows XP owners are receiving "RPC Errors" which cause the customer's computer to shut down after connecting to the Internet for a short time. This is not an issue caused by a malfunction on the network. This is a vulnerability in Windows XP. Customers can try to update their security settings at Microsoft's website, if they are able to stay connected long enough. We are still investigating this issue and will notify you when we have more information. ------------------------- see here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en If you can get your PC going, use task manager to end task on dcom.exe, then apply the security patch in the link above. |

there is nothing wrong with his hardware, this happened to me earlier today
just end the dcom.exe thing, search for msblaster.exe, delete both the exe the prefetch that come up, run msconfig in the run thingy and go to the startup tab, disable msblaster, apply, then go download all the windows updates, install them restart, you should be good |
