Re: Whose looking forward to BF3?

Meh, the alpha is the Paris rush level without the massive distances or jets or choppers.
Of course it's going to feel more like the BC games.
It's not like the BC games are tremendously different from Bf in concept anyway. Most of the additions from them are positive things.
I like rush better than conquest because it focuses people better (It'd be cool with they could do rush with say 3-4 more widely spread points on a larger map, or a conquest with lattice-like semi-enforced capture order)
I like the weapon selection and equipment stuff (though that is, perhaps, more of a BF2142 addition than a BC additon)
I like the medal system, it rewards people for being good or simply being a team player, not with silly killstreak stuff but experience points.
IMO Dice has been rather consistently good, enough to guarantee this being a good game and worth buying, even if it ends up not being OMGWTF amazing:
BF2 was a revolution in the feel and style of this kind of game along with minor persistence. 2142 really expanded on the unlock scheme. BC2 brought a more practical destructible environment than many, amazing sound and solid gameplay, while improving on the weapon feel. BF3 is more of an evolution and merging of the better parts of all of them, from the feeling I get.
