The nose-mounted minigun is secondary, the 150 mm is the main gun and the biggest damage dealer, and it is the one with a more limited firing arc.

Surely the point of all the cus-tim-eye-zay-shun is so people can tailor it to any one of these? "Combination of the above".

Ok, so should we just discount what the devs tell us then?

They told us pretty directly what it was going to be, what it is able to do. So I'm not trying to shit on your thread or anything, but speculating about something we already know seems a little pointless.

I think the point of weapon customization is mainly about making it more or less effective at tackling certain targets. Like how the lightning was described as either using a rapid-fire cannon that's good vs. infantry but not very good against armor, or a cannon that is good against armor, or a flak cannon of some kind I guess for fighting aircraft. So the liberator will probably have to choose between guns that maybe have a big blast radius and are good vs infantry, or guns that have a small radius but are good vs armor although hard to hit infantry with.

Incidentally, I actually hope that aircraft can't just hover so easily and bombard targets. Strafing runs are cooler than camping doorways.

That's the example of a trend very disliked by me. You're too limited to what you believe was said, refusing to take a different angle, denying the same ability to others. Specifically, you are saying that this thread has no point. But why should we stop right now because you said to What you're doing my friend, is called trolling. Please refrain from it.

I went with other. I went through a lot of confusion about how exactly they were setting it up, but after hearing them describe the firing arcs in that broadcast I think I understand what they've done and why.

The nose and tailgun remain largely the same, although the tailgun may be more modular and useful (I hope). The bombs have been replaced by a cannon, but the firing arc hasn't changed that significantly. I anticipate that the clip size, fire rate, and RoF will also be pretty familiar. As far as the pilot is concerned it actually changes rather little.

I think the closest approximation would actually be the old Lib. You can attack from high altitude and give your gunner a good field of fire at the expense of time to target, or you can perform low altitude strafing runs and lay down a line of death with little warning with the risk of taking heavier fire.

Last lib skill should be a Nuke. Gets rid of all ammo, and defenses, and lowers armour. But you get to drap a Nuke on an area, maybe with enough of a time delay that everyone knows its coming so they can leave.

Could add some interesting gameplay with attackers trying to make sure a defensless Lib delivers its payload.

If this is how it'll work, I am so flying it again.

Bettaaaaaa!
